Insurance Documentation Analyst

We are actively seeking an experienced Insurance Documentation Analyst to support applicants participating in FEMA’s Public Assistance (PA) program. This consultant role focuses on insurance provisions and their impact on FEMA eligibility, requiring a thorough understanding of property and casualty insurance policies and how they interact with federal disaster recovery funding.

  • Identify potential insurance coverage applicable to FEMA PA-eligible damage
  • Review property and casualty (P&C) insurance policies for coverage scope, exclusions, and proceeds
  • Track insurance claims, settlements, and proceeds received by applicants
  • Prepare summary narratives documenting insurance coverage, proceeds, and impact on FEMA eligibility
  • Support applicants in responding to FEMA RFIs related to insurance documentation
  • Upload insurance documentation to the FEMA Grants Portal
  • Maintain PAPPG and 2 CFR 200 compliance throughout all insurance documentation activities
  • Coordinate with applicant risk managers, insurance carriers, and program advisors
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in insurance documentation review, FEMA PA insurance compliance, or related federal grant work
  • Strong knowledge of PAPPG insurance requirements and 2 CFR 200 provisions
  • Experience reviewing property and casualty insurance policies in a FEMA or federal grant context
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management platforms
  • Ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor
  • Background in property and casualty insurance claims, insurance adjusting, or public entity risk management
  • Experience supporting FEMA insurance-related appeals or special considerations
  • Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or similar credential
